OUR PROCESS:

Badilla Painters’ process for applying liquid metals involves a combination of specialized techniques that result in a unique and luxurious metallic finish. This is done in our on-site workshop which allows us to monitor the process for quality control.

1. Surface Preparation

• Cleaning and Sanding: The surface to be coated is meticulously cleaned to remove dirt, oils, or debris. It is then sanded to create a smooth and slightly textured base that helps the liquid metal adhere effectively.
• Priming: A high-quality primer is applied to ensure a proper bond between the surface and the liquid metal.
• Customization: Depending on the project, additives or pigments may be included to modify the color or texture of the metal coating.

2. Application Techniques

• Spraying or Brushing: Liquid metals can be applied using a spray gun for larger, smooth surfaces or with brushes/rollers for smaller areas and details. The method chosen depends on the desired texture and appearance.
• Detail Work: If the design calls for patterns or specific effects, skilled painters may use sponges, combs, or other tools to create textures or unique metallic effects.

3. Polishing
:

• After curing, the surface may be polished to bring out a higher shine or brushed for a matte, textured look.
• This meticulous approach ensures a stunning, long-lasting metallic finish that can transform walls, furniture, or decorative pieces into striking features with a luxurious touch.
